Who is eligible?

The training programs developed and delivered by FDC are addressed to individuals interested in using conflict resolution techniques in the social environment they live, in their professional or personal lives. Additional advanced courses are designed to cover requirements necessary for potential employment as mediators.

From the training programs could benefit corporations, organizations, public institutions, also individuals.

It is recommended that the trainees have experience in working with people, developed communication skills and willingness to subsequently apply the knowledge and skills accomplished through these trainings.

Art. 7. Law 192/2006


In order to become a mediator, the following conditions must be satisfied:

a) full ability to work;
b) postsecondary studies;
c) a minimum of 3 years’ work experience or, alternatively, a postgraduate qualification at Master level in the field of mediation issued by an institution that is accredited according to the law andendorsed by Mediation Council;
d) full ability to work, from a medical point of view;
e) a good reputation and no definitive conviction for having intentionally committed an offence that would prejudice the reputation of this professionf) completion of mediator training courses, according to the law, except for graduates of Master studies in the field of mediation at institutions accredited according to the law and endorsed by the Mediation Council;
g) authorization as a mediator, according to the law.

In order to register for the FDC’s mediator training courses, the following documents are required:

- Copy of the applicant’s Diploma certifying completion of postsecondary studies;
- Copy of the applicant’s Identity card Registration form
- Training contract

When you graduate, you will receive a certificate enabling you to satisfy the condition stated at point f), Art. 7 of Law 192/2006.

With this certificate, as well as supporting documents that demonstrate compliance with points a-e, you will have satisfied the conditions of Art. 7 and thus, you can become authorized as a mediator.

Mediators

Our team of mediators has 11 years of experience in the application of alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, both within group disputes and interpersonal ones. The partnership between FDC and the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police had provided to FDC's team, access to a rich and diverse case law.
