Assistance for Developing of a Common Working Platform of the Romanian Women NGOs

Purpose
The project aimed to identify priorities for action and needs of the Romanian women NGOs, so that they could raise the impact of their activities upon the Romanian society.
Activities
A two days workshop-based seminar was initiated by ANFDUR (National Association of Women with University Diploma from Romania) and organized in partnership with FDC and CIIAN. The working methods were adapted to a multi-party mediation process. Members of the Romanian Mediators’ Network, experts from Foundation for Democratic Change and the Canadian Institute for International and Applied Negotiation facilitated the dialogue during the seminar.
Results
- A coalition of Romanian Women NGOs was initiated;
- A set of priorities for action was established through which the coalition could actively involve on a permanent basis in solving the serious problems women and children were facing in Romania: Domestic Violence; Poverty; Inadequate education for children
- A strategy for co-operation and partnering activities between the coalition and central/local public administration was drafted;
- The role and potential of Mass-Media was identified , also priorities for action in order to insure a permanent and visible presence in Mass-Media
