The program aimed to provide the theoretical background, as well as the practical skills needed by the future Romanian mediators.
The course package consisted of 5 modules for beginners:
• Introduction to Mediation (Mediation I)
• Alternative Dispute Resolution
• Conflict Analysis
• System Design
• Negotiation
and 2 advanced modules, for practitioners, Mediation II and Mediation III.
The practical unit consisted of a case study that was conducted by a student under the supervision of an FDC trainer, as well as participation in eight hours of role – play exercises with members of the Romanian Mediators' Network.
• 38 mediators from NGOs and local administration institutions were trained;
• A training manual was created;
• 4 case studies were created and used during the training activities;
• 9 role play exercises were created and used ;
• A permanent online communication system for the graduates of the program was established, allowing for consultancy and technical assistance to be provided.
