The promotion of human rights by supporting the implementation of the Judicial System Reform referring to the use of mediation as an alternative to the courts.
For the project “Mediation in the Community”, FDC has collaborated with the Alma-Ro Association and the Institute for Crime Investigation and Prevention –Inspectorate General of the Romanian Police.
• Preparing, editing and creating promotional materials, as well as disseminating them. The team has created the content of the promotional leaflet and flyer, as well as the slogan “Use the dialogue, choose mediation”.
• Organizing regional meetings in 8 cities: Bucharest, Călăraşi, Craiova, Timişoara, Iaşi, Brăila, Cluj, Târgu Mureş;
• Organizing local meetings including 36 regional meetings and a meeting in Bucharest, with the participation of proximity police officers, certified mediators, representatives of the local administration, magistrates;
• Elaborating and translating into English an information report containing the activities conducted within the project “Mediation in the Community”, including the results obtained at the local meetings;
• Organizing an international conference, “Mediation in the Community”, with the participation of 101 guests, among whom 57 members of the police, 19 certified mediators, 10 NGOs, 8 public administration representatives and 7 foreign guests.
• During the meetings, information on the importance of introducing mediation in the community was provided both to the police officers present, and to certified mediators and other interested individuals at the local level.
• The project was made public by 9 press releases, 3 articles on the regional meetings, 20 articles on the local meetings and 2 articles on the International Conference.
All the participants received the leaflet “Mediation in the Community”, the information report, the flyer “Mediation in the Community”, posters and pens bearing the slogan of the project: “Accept the dialogue, use mediation”.
