Advanced Mediation Courses for the Mediators’ Network in Romania

The Advanced Mediation courses’ aim was to increase knowledge about the intervention in conflict situations and improving the necessary skills to professional mediators, members of the Mediators’ Network in Romania.
 

Activities
 

7 members of the Mediators’ Network in Romania have participated at the Advanced Mediation courses (Mediation II, Mediation III) organized by FDC in the autumn of 1999.

The content of the Mediation II course was the following: mediation models; mediation steps and special procedures used depending on the conflict parties; co-mediation; improving the knowledge in order to identify interests; Conflict stages

The content of the Mediation Course III was as it follows: models of positive formulation and reformulation; development and enhancement of role play; critical steps in mediating.

The Training programs have been developed, organized and supported by experts of the Foundation for Democratic Changes and Canadian Institute for International Applied Negotiation.
 

Results


• It had been formed a group of specialists who have advanced knowledge and skills in mediation and who are members of the Mediators’ Network in Romania;
• It had been created a group of experts prepared to conduct, organize and support training programs in mediation

Projects

The projects undertaken by FDC were oriented to identifying opportunities for application of mediation in the Romanian context, but also related to the environmental protection field.

Mediators

Our team of mediators has 11 years of experience in the application of alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation, both within group disputes and interpersonal ones. The partnership between FDC and the General Inspectorate of Romanian Police had provided to FDC's team, access to a rich and diverse case law.
